The kitchen of my dreams
It’s done! It’s finally done! After what felt like an eternity our kitchen is 100% complete. From floors to ceiling everything has been removed, replaced, fixed, and positioned the way my dream kitchen was envisioned.
Autumn and it’s time for apple crisp
When the weather gets that slight chill in the air I can’t get enough apples and cinnamon. Warm apple crisp is what I crave- it’s not only tasty, it makes the house smell amazing! Growing up in Massachusetts as soon as September comes around apple picking is on the docket!
Gluten Free Chocolate WACKY Cake
A great way to make a vegan cake is a Wacky Cake or Depression cake. It’s a cake that has no eggs, milk or butter but tastes yummy! But as we know the more items you take out of any dessert the less it stays together.
Gluten Free Apple Cider Donuts
Fall, the season of leaves changing colors on the trees and crisp cooler temperatures that beg for recipes that are full of cinnamon and spice! Here in Massachusetts the epitome of Fall is apples and apple picking.
how would you react?
Man: Does this flavor have nuts in it?
Ice Cream Server: Is there an allergy?
M: Yes.
Cake Flop to Cake Pop!
Ever make a cake that just isn’t right? It’s a bit dry. It’s shaped funny. It refused to come out of the pan! Well there’s a solution…
Nourished Festival in Worcester 2019
It’s been a bit crazy in our house with all the kitchen renovations but my Cecelia and I took a quick field trip to the Nourished Festival in Worcester, MA. It’s is a food expo held all over the United States showcasing gluten free foods. At each expo multiple vendors share their wares that are not just gluten free but many times nut free, keto/paleo friendly, and even vegetarian/plant based.
Well I’ve never seen that before...
This is a phrase you never want to hear when you are doing any sort of renovation on your house. Since the start of our kitchen project it has been said four times already and it has only been a week!
Traveling with Allergies or Intolerances
We are back to the hustle and bustle of summer schedules instead of being pampered in paradise. Now that we are home there are a few things that we can agree that were good, bad or ugly about traveling with allergies and food intolerances.
Hiccups in Renovation
We are quickly learning that nothing goes smooth when it comes to anything with our house. We should of known that a large project would be derailed at least three times before it even started.
When “safe” isn’t safe...
My Cecelia is a social butterfly and loved by her peers. She is invited to many parties and play dates. Most, if not all. Of her friends know she has allergies and let their families know she needs to be safe.
Summertime and it’s time for Strawberry Donuts!
With summer right around the corner what better way to celebrate than fresh fruit donuts?
Burnt to Blondie
I burnt the first batch horribly. The second batch refused to release from the paper. The third batch was only slightly burnt yet undercooked and foamy. Like how do you get blondies to foam?
When Dairy isn’t an option
How do you get enough calcium when you don’t eat or drink dairy? We just had this conversation at our pediatrician’s office at my Cecelia’s last physical.
Tollhouse meets it’s Match!
When I think of home baked cookies the first thing that comes to mind are warm and delicious chocolate chip cookies.
Good Bye 1970’s say hello to today!
We have taken the giant leap, and after scrimping and saving, have decided to renovate our kitchen!
Product Review: SmashMallow Crispy Treats and my own version
I found Smash Mallow by accident while in the health food section of the grocery store.
The Top 5 of my favorite quick grab snacks
If your life is anything like mine it is always go, go, go! And with life going faster than the speed of sound remembering to eat isn’t always on the top of the priority list.
Aquafaba Fluff
Marshmallow fluff is a staple in Massachusetts. It is fun and versatile addition. It adds some excitement to traditional desserts or sandwiches for great texture or just ooey gooey deliciousness!
The Ultimate Blondie FAIL...
Found a great recipe with only one cup flour and only one egg! It sounded delicious and was super quick and easy to make. With multiple ingredient swap I decided to go from squares to muffins. This was the beginning of where things went wrong.
